Start Writing Your Novel Now
Course Description
Start your novel with an instructor who understands what it’s like to write a novel for the first time.
Ines Rodrigues enrolled in a Beginner Novel Writing course at the Writing Institute 11 years ago with only an idea for her first book. Over the following years, with the help of talented mentors, she wrote the historical fiction "Days of Bossa Nova" and learned how to reach out for editors and agents, until she finally got it published in 2017. She knows every step of the journey and she will help you write your book.
Ines’s five-week course is a well-balanced mix of workshop, craft lessons and lots of encouragement. Each writer gets an equal amount of time dedicated to his or her work, with comments from the instructor and peers.
Craft lessons are focused on the most important instruments in a novelist’s toolbox: structure, characterization, point of view etc. Each lesson is followed by specific prompts to practice and help students to understand and apply the writing techniques. Make this year the year you write your novel!
March 28 to April 25
Tuesdays 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Zoom
Who Should Take This Class?
Writers who are ready to start writing a novel (memoir writers also welcome).
